2012 Birdies for Charity

What is Birdies for Charity?

Birdies for Charity is a campaign designed to support local charitable organizations through involvement with the Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic. The program encourages people to make pledges base don the number of birdies scored during the tournament. 100% of your pledge goes to the charity of your choice.

You have the opportunity to make Coastal Women for Change the BIG winner by participating in the Birdies for Charity donation program. Make your pledge to Coastal Women for Change through the Birdies for Charity program and CWC will receive every single penny plus a chance to have your donation doubled.

Additionally, you have a chance to win several great prizes, including the Grand Prize-a 2 night stay and dinner at the Hard Rock Biloxi. Weekly drawings will be held during the month of March. Donors must "Guess the birdies" in order to be eligible for the Grand Prize.

What is a birdie?

In golf, a "birdie" is a score of one stroke better than "par" for any hole on the golf course. "Par" is the expected score of a golf professional on any given hole.

What is the average birdie total?

Champions Tour professionals are anticipated to score an average of 700 birdies during the tournament. If 700 birdies are made during the tournament, pledges would total:

  • .02 per birdie= $14

  • .04 per birdie= $28

  • .05 per birdie= $35

  • .10 per birdie= $70

  • .25 per birdie= $175

ALL DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE! You will receive a receipt via email that can be used for tax purposes.
